Anupam is a senior payments expert with more than 16 years of experience as an advisor and practitioner. Since joining Flagship, Anupam has led and delivered more than 30 engagements in strategy development, M&A commercial due diligences and investment thesis formulations. For instance, in a recent project Anupam assisted a leading global PE firm to develop an investment thesis for payments in B2B SME accounting SaaS.

Anupam has advised numerous European and global PE firms, banks, PSPs, card schemes, fintechs, merchantsand regulatory bodies on diverse business problems and strategies in payments. Anupam has deep expertise in B2B payments, open banking, transaction banking, merchant acceptance and bank payments, and for a significant part of his career has led and delivered multiple engagements in strategic advisory roles, especially around growth and competitive strategies, new market entry and M&A commercial due diligence. 

Prior to joining Flagship, Anupam was a Senior Manager first with Accenture and then with First Annapolis Consulting (a boutique advisory firm that Accenture acquired in 2017) and was responsible for leading and developing the B2B and bank payments practice at First Annapolis in Europe. Anupam has more than 10 years of experience in management consulting, having also worked with Cognizant prior to joining Accenture. Prior to consulting, Anupam was a practitioner in the transaction banking space with RBS and Citibank, where he was responsible for product management and commercialization.

Anupam holds a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (India) and a Bachelors in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Calcutta (India).
